We produce knowledge for the transformation of the habitat in collaboration with the community, its organizations and the State.

The Institute of Human Spatiality is the most important headquarters of research on Habitat, Project and Morphology belonging to a public higher education institution, where these matters are addressed by the disciplines of Urbanism, Architecture and the different Designs (Industrial, Graphic, Fashion and Clothes, Landscape and Textile Design).
It answers to the University of Buenos Aires, it is based in its School of Architecture, Design and Urbanism (UBA, FADU) and it orients its course of action towards the Nation and mostly the Metropolitan Region, always in articulation with the network of faculties and public schools of architecture, design and urbanism that exist in our territory.
Its first precedent goes back to the creation of the Centro Laboratorio de Morfología, which institutionalized the first spaces for projectual research in times of democratic recovery. Its name, “Human Spaciality”, given to the Institute by its founder, the Emeritus Professor Roberto Doberti, summarizes its objects of study: the action of inhabiting understood as a contexture, the action of projecting understood as a practice and the forms understood as production.
Our professional researchers-teachers are organized in specifical Projects, in Programs that bring different projects together and in Centers that are devoted to a certain area of knowledge. These different forms of association converge in synergy in the main image of the Institute.
